The place to be for those seeking good vibes in the sun, the Waterfront Festival is your destination for live music, food, drink and activities in water and on the land.
NEW IN 2025 - The event kicks off on the Friday night with Sneaky Sound System delivering the party anthems as the sun sets. Couple this with great food, colourful drinks and entertainment for all ages, we couldn't think of a better way to put a full stop to the working week and ease into the weekend.
On Festival Day Saturday the entire precinct will come alive with more free entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy - plus catch Pierce Brothers on the main stage before the much-loved fireworks show across the bay at 9.45pm.
LIVE MUSIC TAKES CENTRE STAGE
On both the Friday night and Saturday, the main stage will be pumping. Sneaky Sound System (Friday night) and the Pierce Brothers (Saturday night) will be joined by a full-stage line up of iconic Australian bands and upcoming talent.
Settle in on the lawn with a drink from the beer garden and bite into tasty treats with food trucks from across the region offering savoury and sweet selections from near and far.
The Waterfront Festival is the highlight of Frankston’s summer event season. 45,000 can’t be wrong. We’ll see you there!
For the first time ever, Friday night marks the start of the Waterfront Festival.
When the working week ends, gather your friends and head to the waterfront and settle in for a night of live music, colourful drinks and delicious food. For those seeking a thrill to warm up to the weekend the rides will also be in full swing for you to enjoy between sets.
From funky house to uplifting choirs, Friday night at the Waterfront Festival will be a non-stop celebration of music and community. Get ready to lose yourself in the groove with Sneaky Sound System headlining an electrifying line-up that will have you dancing well after the sun sets.
Your weekend celebrations start at 5pm on Friday 7 February. Grab your mates, a colourful cocktail, some delicious treats and get your glitter glam on for the beach party you didn't know you needed.
Saturday 8 February is Festival Day at the Waterfront Festival!
The entire Frankston Waterfront will be activated with activities, entertainment, food, drinks and more across the day, and into the night.
The day starts with the Frankston Swim Classic to warm up the body and mind, with the live music, rides, food and activities all kicking-off from midday.
Pierce Brothers are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their 2014 EP, 'The Tree Night' by headlining the Waterfront Festival before the highly anticipated fireworks show across the bay at 9:45pm on Saturday night.
This year’s festival promises an impressive celebration of musical talent, showcasing an eclectic mix of genres that perfectly blend soulful folk and indie-pop to rhythmic beats. With a lineup featuring both emerging stars and established artists, festival-goers are in for a treat.
Kicking off from 12pm on Saturday 8 February, get there early and grab a bite to eat and drink from the Garden Bar then settle in for an afternoon of unforgettable live Australian music.
Don’t miss the much-loved fireworks show across the bay on at 9:45pm on Saturday night.
The 2025 Frankston Swim Classic starts at 8:30am on Saturday 8 February.

There are three swim events to choose from:
400m - suitable for juniors, novice swimmers and those that just want a quick splash
1200m (1.2km) - classic middle distance open water swim
2500m (2.5km) - for the more experienced swimmers, test yourself over the 2-lap long course
In 2025 there is also a Kids Beach Run - a 700m dash taking our young runners from the Frankston Yacht Club to the Surf Lifesaving Club and back. For ages 5 - 11 years only.
