Tunnel maintenance schedule (2024)

The EastLink tunnels are closed periodically for scheduled maintenance works. These works are essential to maintain the high safety standard of EastLink.

The following tunnel closures are currently planned (quarterly maintenance closures are shown in bold):

  • Friday night 2 August 2024 (10pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 3 August 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Friday night 9 August 2024 (10pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 10 August 2024 (8pm-7am) - quarterly maintenance

  • Sunday night 25 August 2024 (8pm-5am)

  • Friday night 30 August 2024 (10pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 31 August 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Friday night 6 September 2024 (10pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 7 September 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Friday night 4 October 2024 (10pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 5 October 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 12 October 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 26 October 2024 (8pm-7am)

  • Saturday night 16 November 2024 (8pm-7am) - quarterly maintenance

Typically, during these tunnel closures:

  • EastLink (including the Melba and Mullum Mullum tunnels) is closed in both directions between Springvale Rd and Canterbury Rd.

  • Ringwood Bypass is also closed in both directions between Ringwood St and Maroondah Hwy.
